20. oktoobril toimub Tallinnas Nordic Hotel Forumis Hollywoodi veteranstsenaristi John Vorhausi komöödiakirjutamise meistriklass.
John Vorhaus on stsenarist, kirjanik ja koolitaja, kes on töötanud ja õpetanud 35 riigis ning loonud ja kirjutanud mitmeid teleseriaale. Eesti publikule on tema filmograafiast vast enim tuntud “Tuvikesed” ehk “Married… with Children”, mille juures on John töötanud nii stsenaristina kui ka juhtinud seriaali Vene ja Bulgaaria versioonide writers’ room’e. Johni õpikut “The Comic Toolbox: How to be Funny Even if You’re Not” on trükitud viis tiraaži.
John Vorhausi meistriklass tutvustab komöödia tööriistu, karaktereid, loo ja stseeni struktuuri ning stsenaristide, produtsentide ja teiste loomeprotsessis osalejate vahelisi koostöövorme. Koolitaja sõnul ei sõltu komöödia ei maagiast, inspiratsioonist ega andest – tegemist on lihtsate reeglite ja struktuuridega, vahenditega, mida kõik saavad kasutada. Koolitusele on oodatud nii stsenaristid, püstijalakoomikud kui ka kõik teised, kes tahavad õppida huumori kasutamist olenemata loo vormist. Koolitus on inglise keeles.
Eesti Stsenaristide Gild loodi 2018. aasta augustis eesmärgiga edendada professionaalset stsenaristikat. Juunis 2019 sai ESG Euroopa Stsenaristide Föderatsiooni kandidaatliikmeks. John Vorhaus is an international consultant in television and film script development, who has worked for television networks, film schools, production companies and film funding bodies in 35 countries on five continents, and created or co-created television shows in Romania, Germany, Switzerland, Nicaragua and New Zealand. He wrote for the original Married… with Children and ran the writing staff of its Russian and Bulgarian versions. He has also built sitcoms in Romania and social-action television in Nicaragua.
John is also well known as the author of THE COMIC TOOLBOX: HOW TO BE FUNNY EVEN IF YOU’RE NOT. This seminal book on writing comedy for television and film is now in its fifth printing, and continues to be a definitive source of information and inspiration for writers from Santa Monica to Scandinavia. Its companion volume, CREATIVITY RULES, is similarly a crucial book for writers at any stage of development.
John is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and a member of the Writers Guild of America. He has consulted to Walt Disney Feature Animation and taught at such institutions as Northwestern University, the American Film Institute and the Writers Program of the UCLA Extension.
