Tamara Orlova is a UK-based screenwriter and development producer whose original screenplay Of Sound Body and Mind was selected for the BBC Writersroom Top 10% in 2025, placing it among the strongest scripts out of more than 10,000 nationwide submissions.
A member of the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain and the National Union of Journalists (UK), Tamara brings a distinctive voice to intimate, character-driven dramas, with a particular interest in psychological complexity and moral ambiguity. Her writing is informed by extensive experience in narrative journalism, with work published across various platforms, including L’Officiel Baltic and Hello!, where she developed expertise in investigative methods and editorial voice.
As a producer, Tamara has created several award-winning projects featuring acclaimed British actors, including Tom Goodman-Hill (Baby Reindeer), Sinéad Matthews (Vera Drake), and Ed Westwick. Her dual perspective as a writer-producer supports storytelling that combines commercial viability with artistic integrity.
She is currently developing several original projects, including a screenplay in collaboration with Sundance Collab and a high-end Victorian drama series in discussions with writer Chips Hardy (Taboo). Tamara also made her directorial debut with the short film Grey Ice (2025).
Fluent in English, Estonian, and Russian, she regularly participates in masterclasses at major international film festivals, including Berlinale, Cannes, LFF, and Venice.
