Reeli Reinaus is an Estonian writer, screenwriter, and folklorist. She graduated from the Tartu Academy of Theology and holds a master’s degree in Estonian and comparative folklore from the University of Tartu. From 2016 to 2018, she studied documentary filmmaking at the Baltic Film, Media and Arts School (BFM).
In addition to her significant contributions to children’s and young adult literature, she is also active in the audiovisual field. As a writer and director, she has created four documentary films and, in collaboration with Katariina Libe, co-written two popular TV series: “The Perfect Girlfriend” (2023), which premiered on the Elisa platform and earned the EFTA Award for Content Creator of the Year, and “The Lying Club” (2024), which premiered on TV3.
Filming for her first feature film, Morten, is set to begin in 2025.
