Vivian Säde is an Estonian screenwriter, director and producer whose work tends to blend magical realism with comedy-drama. She founded her production company Moondustfilms in 2018, and under its banner created “Kalamaja Blues” in 2023 — Estonia’s first queer series, produced in collaboration with Yle and ERR, which won the Quick Killer category at the 2025 Serial Killer festival. After completing her studies at the Baltic Film, Media and Arts School in Tallinn, Vivian earned a Master’s degree in Screenwriting (cum laude) from Screen Academy Scotland. Her new short film “Mari, kallis,” produced in collaboration with Allfilm, will premiere in 2026. She is also developing the six-part comedy-drama series “Ann Was Here,” based on the classic young adult novel by Aidi Vallik. Vivian has developed projects through Midpoint Institute and the European Writers Club’s Bridging Generations programme and is a member of the Estonian Filmmakers’ Union.
